Form to be filled up by the Applicant in his own handwriting, and returned by post to the Director of Recruitment (Colonial Service), Colonial Office, 2, Richmond Terrace, London, S.W.1. Failure to comply with the marginal instructions on the form may seriously delay the considera- tion of a candidate's application.

A candidate serving in the Navy, Army, or Air Force at the time of applying must submit the form

to his Commanding Officer, for tranmission through the usual channels to the Colonial Office.

A candidate resident in a Colony or Protectorate at the time of applying must submit the form to the Governor, for transmission to the Colonial Office; and a candidate resident in a Dominion, to the appropriate authority in that Dominion.

N.B.-In normal circumstances a candidate should not call at the Colonial Office unless he receives a written invitation to do so.

The Director of Recruitment cannot undertake to see anyone who calls without such invitation.
